Unfortunately Ventspils Curling club is announcing unpleasant news regarding Ventspils Cup 2010 - the tournament will not take place as previously announced - in the mood of Midsummer’s Day.

The Olympic centre „Ventspils”, with which we had successfully cooperated for nine years, had to make a hard decision, which as a result has influenced our plans to organise the curling tournament on 18-20 June as previously announced.

Despite the aforementioned, the tournament Ventspils Cup 2010 will take place. Each and every curling player is warmly welcome to come to Ventspils in September.
The Olympic centre “Ventspils” has promised to ensure good quality ice, and as a compensation to the tournament participants and guests for postponing the tournament, the Olympic centre “Ventspils” will ensure the possibility to spend the Saturday evening for free in the new indoor Water Attraction Park.

Please accept our sincere apologies for making changes in your plans and causing any other inconveniences. Let us hope that these changes will contribute to a good quality ice and great curling games in autumn.

The Curling Tournament Ventspils Cup 2010 will take place on 17-19 September in the ice hall of the Olympic centre „Ventspils”, with the participation of 16-24 teams, with maximum 6 players in one team.

Games will be played according to the WCF rules. According to the draw all teams will be divided into groups, and starting with the second game the Schenkel system will be used. All teams will be granted five games, a party in the new indoor Water Attraction Park on Saturday evening, and other activities. Participation fee is LVL 160 (EUR 235).
